Last week, the Item printed a list of food pantries in our area, to help those whose SNAP benefits were ending (or federal employees living without paychecks). This week, we hope to print current food drives to help our pantries. Email [email protected] by Tuesday at noon for this week's issue.

Thank you to everyone who supported The Item Appeal for the comedy show tonight. From the people who bought gift certificates for the raffle baskets, the sponsors who helped support everything, the food donors, people who bought tickets, the comedians from Funny 4 Funds and, of course, Laura Cummins Cooper and Barbara Ranieri who came up with the idea and put it together flawlessly. Thank you to the Item Appeal board members who came to help out and the other volunteers who made it all work. Amazing night and raised over $16,000 for the Item Appeal, which is the most important thing. Thank you to everyone who played a part.

So excited about the comedy show Saturday night to benefit the Item Appeal. Laura Cummins Cooper and Barbara Ranieri have done such an amazing job organizing, having people support local businesses by buying gift certificates for the raffles, lining up sponsors, arranging refreshments... on and on. And a thank you to the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce for donating another round of candles, including the popular Weetabix-inspired Best Scent by a Dam Site and Pumpkin ($22 cash). Should be a great evening! And we hope it raises a lot to help our neighbors in need.
