To the class of 2023,
As most of you know, Benett would be graduating with you this year. We would like to gift one of his classmates a scholarship in his honor. At this time we are asking the community and public to donate to his scholarship fund.
Whitmire Community School has been kind enough to allow us to give back once again. All proceeds are tax deductible as we are a legal non-profit Incorporation of 501(C) (3) under South Carolina law. Any amount is helpful, big or small.
We at Benett's Helmet Foundation are so blessed to have regular sponsors that have helped us fund our Helmet program for almost a decade. We hope they'll continue to do so during these hard economical times.
If you knew or remember Benett as a classmate, I would love to see your memories or even photos with him. To know our son was a joy because he was a fiercely loving, active and funny kid. We only had him on this earth for 9 short years and this month marks 9 years without him.
Students who wish to apply for this scholarship will need to apply by February 2023 and provide an essay to Mrs. Jenkins or myself with your completed essay explaining the following:
🚩What are your plans after your high school journey. Tell us your 5 year plan, your 10 plan, and your ultimate goal.
🚩How will this scholarship help you in achieving your goals for your future.
🚩How have you actively participated in helping your school, church, community and fellow peers.
🚩Grades, Attendance, and Disciplinary citations will be evaluated as well. Please do not let it deter you from applying.
We love our community and we love WCS/WHS.
Our top 3 candidates will conduct an interview with us, to narrow down the 1 person who qaulifies the most. The Scholarship will be presented on class night, right before Graduation and we would love to have you help us give one student the ability to go into this world with a little more than they left high school with, to help ensure their success.
Please know we want you all to succeed, be happy, prosper, and grow. We pray every day for all of you! Benett Dalton would be 18 this month (9-18) and we would love to earn at least $1,800 for this prospective student by his heavenly birthday.
We are setting up an account now for digital deposits & mobile banking. We also accept Cash & Checks. Remember it is tax deductible and you will receive your statement via paper document in the mail.

Congratulations to you all, we've watched you grow as he would have grown and while it sometimes brings us to tears to wonder what he would look like or be like now at your age, we love to see you all grow, change, and become young adults.
