5 years of Benny’s Blankets, little did I know that I would be diagnosed with colon cancer 5 years ago. It felt like they were wrong, I walked five miles a day, it was just a routine colonoscopy- (always get those colonoscopies) - but I did- we were going to get thru it with the Good Lord’s Help and he blessed us as ALWAYS.
Sitting in my first treatment at St Dominic, it was so so cold and Tammy had me a care package, so I wasn’t cold- but she was and when I ask - for a blanket for her- they said there wasn’t blankets- unless someone donated and they didn’t have any- Benny’s Blankets became my mission that day. We wanted to make sure that when people were there, cold, worried, scared - they could be warm, be more comfortable and a blanket could at least ease their treatment time by being warm.
We created a post on Facebook and the blessings started coming. We started with boxes coming in, some each day, and then one day- we had been on an errand, pulled up, Tammy was driving and when we went to walk up on our porch- we couldn’t get on the porch unless we moved boxes!
Now 5 years later, with YOUR BLESSINGS- we have given THOUSANDS OF BLANKETS!
