Next week! Join Jeanette Banashak: An Afternoon of Nature, Companionship and Forest Bathing
Thursday, June 18 from 3-5pm at Storyhouse
This event is free and open to all, adults and children.

Nature Companionship (akin to Forest Bathing) is a series of invitations where you access your 5-and-beyond senses to hear with, see with, feel with, smell with, and touch with. The act of with-nessing (Bayo Akomolafe) is more than being an observer, it is acknowledging our interconnected and interrelatedness and the possibilities of transformation.

Nature Companionship is a restorative and healing practice for both humans and the earth. We will move in gentle, slow, and playful ways as we cultivate awareness and appreciation for the intelligence of the more-than-human world and offer reciprocity for the gifts received.

Jeanette will be applying the content from a chapter she wrote in What Teachers Need: How the Education Community Can Promote Sustainable Well-Being and Help Heal the Profession.

Dr. Jeanette Banashak guides people of all ages in urban and rural nature immersion experiences as an act of justice and is deeply committed to the work of integrating life's experiences. She is the author of Mindful Pilgrimage and What Teachers Need: How the Education Community Can Promote Sustainable Well-Being and Help Heal the Profession. She teaches social and emotional learning at Erikson Institute and founded The Spiritual Guidance Training Institute with programs in Nature Companionship as well as interfaith and interspiritual direction.

RSVP here on our website to reserve your spot and get directions to Storyhouse.
