Our little wildlife rescue has been in official operation for many years, however I myself have been helping wildlife for much longer (without aging myself too harshly I will say around 25 years). During this time I have graduated school, gotten married, started a career, and had 2 wonderful children. Wildlife has been a huge part of this and has often become a family affair.
In recent years however, taking in the massive amount of orphaned wildlife has become more and more difficult as my family has become busier with travel and activities. There are only so many baby squirrels/opossum i can carry with me overnight in a camper or hotel afterall. It was not an easy decision to make, and one I have been delaying making for probably too long. But here it is…..
As of now, GM Solberg wildlife rescue will no longer be taking in orphaned wildlife. We will still be able to triage emergencies, and treat sick or injured wildlife on a case to case basis. We will still be available to help steer these calls to appropriate Rehabbers and help where we can. If you have donations I will be happy to disperse those with area rehabbers as well. Please understand that this has been a VERY difficult decision. I do intend to return to rehab in the future.
I thank you all for your understanding.
