Some people leave their mark through one gift. Dolly Parton has touched the world in countless ways. ❤️

A storyteller. A songwriter. A musician and singer. An actress. An entertainer. A dreamer who helped create an amusement park that celebrates the culture and people of her beloved Smoky Mountains.

But perhaps one of her greatest legacies is the way she has always used her success to help others.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, millions of books have been placed into the hands of children, helping inspire a love of reading from their earliest years. Through the years, she has quietly given millions to help families affected by wildfires and floods, supported education and healthcare, and stepped forward time and again when communities needed help.

Through it all, she remained remarkably down-to-earth—never forgetting where she came from or the power of a song, a story, a book, or a helping hand.

For those of us who believe in the arts, Dolly Parton is a beautiful reminder that creativity can do more than entertain. It can educate. It can connect. It can comfort. And it can make the world a better place.

The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Artist Support Grant. Emerging and established artists may apply for awards ranging from $500 to $2,000 to support their artistic and professional development.

What a wonderful evening celebrating art, music & community! 🎨

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Thursday evening to meet and welcome Eric McRay and enjoy his beautiful exhibition, Homeplace: Collage Paintings of the Rural South.

The evening was filled with beautiful works of art, live music by Joshua King, light hors d’oeuvres, and best of all—community fellowship.

A special thank you to our volunteers, Board Members, and Director Kara Donatelli for all they did behind the scenes to make the evening such a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
