Hunterdon Sailing Club (HSC)

Hunterdon Sailing Club (HSC) Hunterdon Sailing Club was founded in 1964 and is a not-for-profit group dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing.

The club sponsors training programs for youth and adults, and organizes races, cruises and special regattas for the enjoyment of both novice and veteran sailors. Races are held twice weekly from May through October, at Spruce Run State Park. Cruising events are also held throughout the season. Members include individuals and families, adults and youth that always wanted to sail and have been looki

ng for a chance to learn, as well as experienced sailors of all ages. The club offers instruction, boats for loan to club members, and opportunities for frequent sailing, both racing and cruising. Also, there are special events that range from competitive, such as regional competitions for specific sailboat classes, to just plain fun, including cruising, hot dog roasts & picnics. Here is a wonderful opportunity to spend more time sailing close to home and less time driving to the shore! The club hosts fleets for various classes of sailboats: Force 5 / Laser, Flying Scot, Jet-14 and Sunfish. In addition, the Cruising Fleet organizes social sailing events for all types of boats. The Junior fleet, for sailors under 18 years of age, is also very active, with a junior racing team, competitive racing with the entire club, holding its own events, and traveling to events with other clubs.

⛵ Hello from the waters of Hunterdon Sailing Club!

Yes… we know. We’ve been a little radio silent. 📻 But we have a pretty good excuse: we’ve been too busy sailing!

Since we last checked in, the summer has been absolutely jam-packed — both on and off the water.
We wrapped up our Learn to Sail classes, with more than 50 students taking the plunge and learning to sail. That kept our instructors and an army of volunteers pretty busy!

And when we weren’t teaching, we were…
⛵ Sunday Fleet Racing🌅 Wednesday Twilight Sailing🏁 Coached Practice Sessions🎓 Improving our skills at the Advanced Sailing Clinic🌊 Enjoying Social Sails🥪 Gathering for picnics🏆 Racing in the Little Brown Jug Regatta
And honestly, we could keep going.

So, what does it take to make all of this happen?
A whole lot of passionate volunteers who love sailing and love sharing it with others. ❤️

But wait… we’re not done yet!
The Rookie Regatta is coming up, and while the sun is starting to disappear over the trees a little earlier each evening, there is still plenty of sailing left in the season.

And if you’re thinking, “Hey, that looks like fun. Maybe I should join next year…”
YES. Yes, you should. 😉
Put March 1, 2027 on your calendar. That’s approximately when we expect to open 2027 membership and Learn to Sail registration.
Or, better yet, follow Hunterdon Sailing Club and keep an eye out for all the details.

☀️ June at Hunterdon Sailing Club ⛵

And just like that… we are well into June and the summer sailing season 🙌

June brings longer days, warmer weather, and everything coming back to life—but around HSC, it means even more.
It’s the sound of Sunfish hulls being pulled from the storage racks, spars and masts clanging on the decks, and sailors getting back into their groove on the water ⛵
We have already wrapped up our first Adult Learn to Sail class ✅Weekly racing is in full swing 🏁And a picnic + social sail brought everyone together for some great time on and off the water 🌊🍔
Momentum is building, sails are up, and the club is alive with activity!
We are underway—and it is shaping up to be an incredible summer at Hunterdon Sailing Club 😎🌅

Hunterdon Sailing Club is about more than just sailing; it is about giving back to the community and helping preserve the beauty of Spruce Run Reservoir.

We were proud to be part of the grand reopening of the handicap-accessible deck near the boat launch at the beautiful Spruce Run Recreation Area.

This meaningful project was completed in loving memory of Frank V. Errico, who so deeply loved the park and was taken from us much too early.
Fifteen members of Frank’s extended family, whose generosity funded the project, joined three resolute Hunterdon Sailing Club members who contributed their time and labor to bring it to life.

A special thank you to the park superintendent for bringing everyone together.

This is what our club is all about—community, connection, and caring for the place we call home.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, the Hunterdon Sailing Club honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.
Their courage, dedication, and selflessness gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day — including the simple joy of gathering on the water with friends and family.
As we spend time at the lake this weekend, let us take a moment to reflect, remember, and give thanks to those who gave everything for our nation.
Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. ⚓🇺🇸

“HSC #10, Over!” ⛵📣

That is a call you would have heard if you were with us for the first Sunday
race of the 2026 season at Hunterdon Sailing Club. The wind was
up 💨, the racing was exciting 🏁,
and the spirits on the water were even higher 😄 — a perfect way to kick
off the season!

Are you an experienced sailor who doesn’t always have time
to get to a boat docked somewhere else? 🤔

Looking for an easy way to sail locally without the hassle?

At HSC, we sail Wednesday Twilight races in the evening 🌅
and Sunday afternoon races ☀️, giving you great
opportunities to get on the water during the week or on the weekend.

We also have sixteen Sunfish sailboats available for
member use ⛵⛵⛵, so there is no
trailering or long drives — just show up, rig up, and sail ✅.
Whether you are into racing, casual sailing, or just
being part of a fun and welcoming sailing community 🤝,
HSC makes it easy to enjoy the sport.

Come give us a look and see why so many sailors choose to
call HSC their home club ❤️⚓
