Today, we pause to remember the lives lost and forever changed on September 11, 2001.
Twenty-five years ago, our nation witnessed an act of terror that shook America to its core. Nearly 3,000 innocent men, women, and children lost their lives in New York, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon. Among them were courageous law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and ordinary citizens who displayed extraordinary bravery in the face of unimaginable danger.
As members of Clinton Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 233, we honor the sacrifice of those who ran toward the danger when others were fleeing to safety. Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to serve others continue to inspire law enforcement officers across our nation every day.
We also remember the families who carry the weight of that loss and the countless first responders whose lives were forever impacted by the events of that day.
September 11 is more than a date in history, it is a reminder of the resilience, unity, and strength of the American people. May we never forget the heroes who answered the call, the innocent lives that were taken, and the enduring spirit of a nation that stood together in its darkest hour.
Never forget the valor and selflessness common people showed doing uncommon things.
