Would you like to enhance your Scouting knowledge as you put what you learn into "live" action? If so, the Civil Air Patrol may be just what you are looking for to go along with your Scouting Journey.

Do you have youth between 12 - 18 years old who are looking for activities full of adventure, aviation, amateur radio, STEM, and so much more? If so, the Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the Air Force, may be just what you have been looking for. Our squadron is hosting an open house for new recruits on August 29th from 6:00pm-8:30pm. The squadron is located in the Heart of Jackson at: 1635 Airport Drive close to the Hawkins Field Airport, Jackson, MS.

Adults interested in joining the Civil Air Patrol are also welcomed to come be a part of this amazing program. Military nor piloting experience is required but welcomed.

Northside Baptist Church is hosting an Informational Session along with the Andrew Jackson Council, BSA to invite Youth & Families from the community to learn more about their Family Pack (boys & girls K5 to 10-years-old or completed 5th grade), Female Troop & Boys Troop (6th grade (10 1/2) through 18-years-old) on May 3 from 6pm-7pm at their church campus. Congratulations to Nils and all of the Class of 2021 Andrew Jackson Council Eagle Scouts. Their hard work and determination to reach their goal of Eagle Scout over many years is extraordinary!

This class also welcomed the 1st two female Eagle Scouts from the Council.

Earn this patch and become a BSA Certified Angling Instructor (CAI) with an online course starting February 2. Become certified to serve as a fishing instructor for Packs, Troops, Crews, Camps, High Adventure, and National Jamboree staff. This CAI course is for adult leaders and Scouting youth, age 16 and up, who enjoy teaching fishing skills to our youth and want to enhance their teaching and event planning skills in the fishing area. It is open to participants from all BSA councils nationwide. We meet on Zoom from 7:00-9:00EST on Wednesday nights starting on February 2nd. Open to participants from any council.

Learn the BSA approach to teaching fishing - and then teach at summer camp, day camp, weekend event, or in your own unit - Cubs, Scouts, or Venturing. If you are interested in helping build the fishing program in your area, please join us!
