Sharing for our friends at C.H. Moore Homestead & DeWitt County Museum.

All are invited to the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum carriage barn on Sunday, June 7th at 1:30pm, when author Maureen Holtz will share a selection of captivating photographs (a number provided by the C.H. Moore Homestead & DeWitt County Museum) and stories from her newest book, "Images of America: DeWitt County." Her presentation will include “slices of history from Clinton, Farmer City, Wapella, Waynesville, Kenney, Hallsville, Weldon, and Weldon Springs” as she discusses the many images she included in the book which help to tell the stories of “the remarkable people and memorable places that contribute to the county’s rich and diverse heritage.” The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session as well as the opportunity to have a book signed by the author.
This is a FREE event; courtesy of the DeWitt County Museum Association and sponsors of "America 250 at the Homestead: Celebrating 250 Years of American History."
The book, which was released by Arcadia Publishing last April, is currently available for purchase through the Museum Gift Shop ($24.99) and will also be available for purchase at the book signing event. All books purchased through the Museum Gift Shop will directly benefit the museum. No book purchase s required to attend the event.

MayDays Update: Many of our vendors have made the wise decision to close down to avoid wind damage to their goods and tents. We appreciate them coming up all weekend. The carnival is still going strong and will be until 5:00pm. You've got plenty of time to come out and ride some rides and get some amazing food.

Other pertinent info for this year's ride:

- Support vehicles will be available from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Rest stop 1 will be open from 7:00 AM to 9:15 AM
- Rest stops 2 and 3 (same location) will be open from 7:45 AM to 11:00 AM
- Roads are open to traffic
- Routes will be clearly marked and color-coded with high visiblity sticker arrows (new this year!)
