This week's employee spotlight:

This week, we’re excited to recognize Samantha Laisure, a Direct Support Professional who has been part of the Share and Care team since April 8, 2024.

Samantha has worked as a DSP throughout her time with Share and Care, and she is currently participating in the DSP National Apprenticeship Program. While she isn’t looking to move into a different position, Samantha is committed to continuing to grow within her role. She values both hands-on experience and continued education and appreciates that there is always something new to learn.

One of Samantha’s favorite parts of being a DSP is finding creative ways to make each day a little more enjoyable for the individuals she supports. She practices songs they can sing together and comes up with different crafts and activities they can enjoy—sometimes even creating things they can make for others. Her creativity helps turn everyday moments into opportunities for connection, engagement, and fun.

That creativity carries over into Samantha’s life outside of work as well. She is a mom of five and an aunt to five more, and with a house often full of family on the weekends, her collection of songs, crafts, and activity ideas gets plenty of use both at home and at work!

Samantha’s desire to continue learning while bringing creativity and meaningful experiences into the lives of the individuals she supports is a wonderful example of the impact a dedicated DSP can have. We’re happy to have Samantha as part of the Share and Care team and look forward to seeing her continue to grow through the Apprenticeship Program and beyond!

Employee Spotlight: Dana Shuey

Dana joined Share and Care on June 1, 2023, beginning as a DSP. Within just three weeks, she stepped into a House Lead position. Since then, Dana has had the opportunity to experience several roles within the company, including House Lead, Professional Manager, and Lead Coordinator.
Through those experiences, Dana discovered that her true passion is direct care. After exploring other leadership opportunities, she returned to her original home as House Lead, where she says she genuinely enjoys coming to work each day and making a difference in the life of the individual she supports.
Dana has also had the unique opportunity to be trained to work in every home and with every individual supported by Share and Care. She values the relationships she has built along the way and enjoys helping the individuals we serve thrive, grow, and celebrate their accomplishments.
Professional growth is also important to Dana. She completed the DSP National Apprenticeship Program in September 2025 and will officially graduate this fall. Although she has already experienced advancement within the company, Dana has learned that direct care is where she is happiest. She continues to enjoy learning new things, improving her skills, and finding better ways to support others.
Outside of work, Dana enjoys spending time with her family, especially during their monthly game nights and holiday gatherings. She also loves crafting and enjoys a wide variety of creative projects.
Dana's journey is a great reminder that professional growth isn't always about moving away from direct care. Sometimes it's about gaining new experiences and discovering where you can make the greatest difference.

Employee Spotlight: Debra Snyder

For the past 18 years, Debra Snyder has been a valued member of the Share and Care team, making a lasting difference in the lives of the individuals she supports. Her dedication to providing compassionate, person-centered care has been a hallmark of her career and reflects the heart of direct support.

As a Direct Support Professional, Debra continues to do what she enjoys most—working directly with the individuals she serves. She is currently participating in the DSP National Apprenticeship Program, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. While she is happy in her current role, she is always willing to expand her knowledge and develop new skills that enhance the quality of support she provides.
Outside of work, family is at the center of Debra's life. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones, whether it's camping, taking vacations, celebrating holidays, or simply gathering to play games together.
Thank you, Debra, for your 18 years of dedication, compassion, and service to Share and Care. Your commitment to the individuals you support, your willingness to continue learning, and the positive example you set each day are truly appreciated. Employee Spotlight: Cynthia Wolfe

Since joining Share and Care on August 30, 2023, Cynthia Wolfe has made a positive impact as a dedicated Direct Support Professional. Throughout her time with the company, she has provided support in three different homes, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to meeting the needs of the individuals she serves wherever she is needed.

Cynthia recently achieved an important professional milestone by completing the DSP National Apprenticeship Program through Share and Care. This accomplishment reflects her dedication to expanding her knowledge and strengthening the skills that help her provide quality, person-centered support each day.

While Cynthia is happy in her current role as a DSP and is not currently pursuing advancement within the company, she remains committed to providing consistent, compassionate care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she supports.

Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys gardening, spending time with her grandbabies, and taking road trips. These simple pleasures help her recharge and bring the same warmth and dedication to her work that her coworkers and the individuals she supports appreciate.

Employee Spotlight: Allison Carter

Since joining Share and Care in August 2025, Allison Carter has quickly made a meaningful impact through her dedication to the individuals she supports and her commitment to professional growth. She began her journey as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and, within just a couple of months, earned a promotion to House Lead—a reflection of her strong work ethic and leadership potential.

Allison recently completed the coursework for the DSP National Apprenticeship Program and is looking forward to graduating this September. She considers this one of her greatest professional accomplishments and is proud of the hard work and determination it took to reach this milestone. She also plans to continue taking advantage of every training opportunity available to strengthen her skills as a support professional.

Looking ahead, Allison hopes to continue growing within Share and Care by pursuing additional clinical and supervisory opportunities as they arise. While she is excited about future advancement, she says her heart will always remain in direct care and serving individuals with compassion and respect.

Outside of work, Allison enjoys spending time with her loved ones and her animals. She embraces her inner nerd by attending KC Comic Con each year and enjoys creative hobbies such as crocheting and cross-stitching. She's also a big fan of musicals.

Employee Spotlight: Heather Hollinger

For the past 3½ years, Heather Hollinger has been a dedicated member of the Share and Care team, serving in Human Resources. Although she has not participated in the DSP National Apprenticeship Program, Heather is committed to learning and growing in her role each day as she expands her knowledge of employment practices, company policies, benefits, and state and federal regulations.

Heather's greatest passion is supporting the people who make Share and Care possible. She strives to ensure that every employee is treated with dignity and respect and wants staff to know they have someone who will listen, help, and guide them when they need support. By serving as a connection between our direct support professionals and administrative team, Heather helps foster communication, understanding, and a positive workplace culture.

One of Heather's proudest accomplishments has been helping redesign the agency's orientation process. Her goal was to create a more welcoming and meaningful experience for new employees by making training easier to understand, less overwhelming, and more effective. She is always looking for ways to improve processes that make life easier for both office staff and employees working in our homes while continuing to support the mission of Share and Care.

Heather is also a strong advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She believes our communities are stronger when we focus on people's abilities rather than their disabilities and hopes to continue increasing awareness and acceptance throughout the communities we serve. She looks forward to seeing Share and Care continue to grow and create even more opportunities for inclusion and understanding.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband of 32 years, their two daughters, and their family pets. She also enjoys creative crafts, making resin creations, and unwinding with documentaries, historical dramas, Broadway musicals, and the occasional true crime podcast. Her sense of humor and positive outlook remind those around her that sometimes laughter is the best way to brighten the day.
