With air quality reaching hazardous levels today, please consider limiting time outdoors until conditions improve. If you need to be outside, it is recommended that you reduce strenuous activity and watch for symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, or irritated eyes.

When possible, keep windows closed and check in on neighbors, friends, and family members who may be more vulnerable to poor air quality. If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. To check ongoing air quality, visit www.AirNow.gov

Members of Platoon 2 joined the procession to bring FF Emily Barker home from DTW. If you have not heard the news, FF Emily Barker was a Clinton Township native who worked with the USFS and made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting a wildland fire in Colorado along with 2 other firefighters.

It was an honor to be involved in remembering her legacy. Rest in peace, Emily.

Before lighting your fireworks:

💧 Keep a bucket of water and a hose nearby.
👓 Wear eye protection.
🌳 Choose an open area away from homes, trees, vehicles, and power lines.
🚫 Never relight a firework that doesn't go off—wait 20 minutes, then soak it in water.
📖 Follow the manufacturer's instructions every time.

A few simple precautions can help prevent accidents this holiday weekend!

❌ On sidewalks
