“We like to lead with gratitude” ~some guy~ Since the passing of 6B Clifton fire has been able to take significant strides towards safety and longevity for the department and the service of the community. One of those steps is being able to purchase a second pair of bunker gear for line staff. Safety equipment in the fire service or any service for that matter is not cheap. A huge thank you to the community of Clifton who passed 6B. The board of directors and chief Brian Cherveny, who are working every day to look out for our community and the people who serve. Thank you Clifton and thank you Chiefs and thank you to the board of directors.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service is devastated to share that three wildland firefighters lost their lives on Saturday, June 27, as part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires along the Colorado-Utah border. Additionally, two crew members were injured in the line of duty and have been transported to a hospital.

Our immediate focus is on supporting their families, friends, and fellow crewmates during this incredibly difficult time.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service stands united with the USDA Forest Service in grief and in our unwavering support for the loved ones left behind. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Additional details will be shared as they are able to be released.

Green Crew at moving through drafting evolutions. CFPD line staff are trained in many roles to facility the dynamic service area they operate in. This means numerous persons capable of engineering a fire apparatus can be on shift at one time ensuring safe, consistent and effective fire suppression and equipment operations. This also means some days training is a bit more in-depth and a few more reps are required for each crew. Today was drafting operations, in being mindful of the water use the water was pumped back into the canal to mitigate water waste. Thank you to the citizens for letting us do the job we love.
