Clifton FMBA Local 21 represents the over 140 career firefighters of the Clifton Fire Department. Our union joined the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association in 1920. The members of Local 21 not only help those in need while on duty, but try to make a difference and provide support to people and organizations within the city year round. Our members also participate in several commun

ity, state, regional, and national programs. In February, we host a beefsteak fundraiser that helps us support local sports teams and clubs. Peter’s Haven which provides meals and temporary housing for families. Also in June, we take donations of blankets and supplies that go to the Clifton Animal Shelter. Later in the year, we also do a coat drive which gets distributed to local area shelters. In December we do a toy collection program which the donations go to the Boys and Girls Club of Clifton and the Power of One Clifton. We also take place in breast cancer awareness, stigma free campaign, and color books to kids during fire prevention week. FMBA 21 also assist families that have been devastated by fires in their homes. Currently there are 143 Firefighter/EMT’s that protect the cities residents and visitors. The city is 11 square miles with about 90,000 residents. We run approximately 13,000 calls a year. We operate out of 6 firehouses. Each shift operates with 5 Engine Companies, 2 Truck Companies, 3 BLS Ambulances, Accountability Technician, and a Deputy Chief. We also have some specialized units such as: Hazmat, Decon, Foam Tankers, and 3 Rescue Boats. Chief Frank Prezioso leads the department with over 25 years of service.

Today, we honor and remember all of our fallen heroes — the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces, as well as the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our communities and our nation will never be forgotten. We remember those who gave everything so that others may live safely and freely.

From all of us with Clifton FMBA Local 21, we pay tribute to the fallen, honor their legacy, and keep their families in our thoughts and prayers today and every day.

Tonight is the night! We are excited to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary at the Clifton Firefighters Foundation Tricky Tray! Thank you for the incredible support — this event is officially SOLD OUT!

🎟️ Ticket Calling Begins: Between 7:30 PM – 7:45 PM
🚫 No additional entry tickets will be sold at the door

🚗 Parking Reminder: Please park legally and be mindful of any permit parking signs in the area.

✅ Additional parking is available at the Clifton Elks Lodge located at 775 Clifton Ave, Clifton, NJ.

Councilman Gibson was more than just an advocate for FMBA 21 — he was a dedicated supporter of the entire City and someone who consistently worked to make our community stronger. His commitment, leadership, and willingness to stand with those who serve and protect the public will not be forgotten.

Today, the Clifton Fire Department proudly remembers Alberto Tirado, who made the ultimate sacrifice 25 years ago.
Thanks to the continued dedication of the brothers and sisters of the Passaic Fire Department, Firefighter Tirado’s memory and sacrifice continue to be honored year after year.
His legacy of courage, service, and commitment lives on not only within the Passaic Fire Department, but here in Clifton as well, through a proud continuation of his family’s service to the fire profession and the community.
Today, we remember Firefighter Tirado, honor his sacrifice, and keep his family, friends, and our brothers and sisters in Passaic in our thoughts and prayers.
