Clifton Park Arts & Culture Commission

Clifton Park Arts & Culture Commission The Community Arts and Culture Commission held its first meeting in January 2008.

The Clifton Park Community Arts and Culture Commission was established by the Town Board in 2007 to promote and support arts and culture in the town of Clifton Park, New York. In 2007, the Town Board of Clifton Park resolved to create a Community Arts and Culture Commission to develop community awareness of the viability and existence of performing arts and visual arts in the town of Clifton Park.

Members of the Commission are volunteers, appointed to three-year terms with the option of being re-appointed. To date, the Commission has fulfilled its mission in several ways, including:

• Coordinating town photo contests in 2009 and 2010
• Producing a 2011 calendar featuring the winners of the 2010 town photo contest
• Awarding competitive grants for visual and performing artists
• Bringing a traveling children's theatre troupe to Clifton Park
• Holding semi-annual roundtables, to provide a forum for arts supporters to tell us what they want for arts and culture in Clifton Park
• Participating in the town's Master Recreation Plan public meetings, to ensure a strong voice for arts and culture in future recreation plans
• Promoting arts events and activities of all kinds, via the town's public relations efforts and the Commission’s fan page on Facebook

We look forward to hearing from YOU about the arts and culture activities and attractions that you currently enjoy - and would like to see in the future - in Clifton Park!
