Dyslexia Learning Center of Northeastern New York

Dyslexia Learning Center of Northeastern New York We are helping families with the challenge of dyslexia by providing free tutoring for children. The organization actively supports dyslexia clynical research.

There are currently more than 50 Children's Dyslexia Centers in 13 states. Each Dyslexia Center is administered by its own director, has its own staff, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Governors that is broadly representative of the community in which the Center is located. All centers are subject to standard operational and clinical policies and procedures established by the Corporate Boar

d of Directors. This centralization of policies and procedures ensures that the quality of our services remains high even as the number of our Centers grows. Our mission is to provide, free of charge, the highest quality multisensory reading and written language tutorial services for children with dyslexia through a network of nationally recognized canters of excellence. Children's dyslexia center of Northeast New York is part of this nationwide network. We strive to promote and encourage education of professionals, tutorial trainees, and the public to become resources in teaching children to read. The Center uses advance scientific knowledge of dyslexia to improve today's standards and tomorrow's care. This has been a successful endeavor nationally. In the years that the Children's Learning Centers have been actively engaged in helping from kindergarten to high-school aged children to overcome dyslexia, several thousand of these children have received one-on-one tutoring at no cost to them or their families. Children are eligible regardless of economic status, race, religion or Masonic affiliation. The positive impact of early intervention on the lives of these children and their families is enourmous and inspires our commitment to this program. As part of the Learning Center Program, over a thousand teachers and other individuals interested in becoming certified tutors at the Centers have received free training. The program has been underwritten by the Masons on an annual basis at the level of approximately 8 million. The actual need is much greater, so we are looking for generous support from individual and corporations to expand this program in New York State.
