Tomorrow starts the new Rotary year and the theme for the 26-27 year is ‘Create Lasting Impact.’

It’s been a very gratifying and challenging year being president, but I am extremely happy with what was accomplished this year! I would like to thank the Twin Bridges’ board members for great support this year, to all the speakers that came to talk to our members, Delmonicos and Grecian Gardens in Clifton Park for providing us space and food for our meetings, to Clifton Park Elks who help us out with our Santa and Bunny breakfast fundraisers and to all the volunteers and members who have helped out throughout the year!

It’s been an honor to serve as president for 25-26 with the theme being ‘Unite for Good.’

We had our changeover dinner and installation of new officers on Saturday, 6/27 and today was my last lunch meeting as president. It was a social event with pizza and dessert. See attached pictures.

We had a very special guest at today’s meeting - a potential new member who submitted his application….Nathan Phang. He said he was looking to volunteer and be of service and checked out many rotary websites and liked what he saw with Twin Bridges! Nathan will be a great asset to our club!!

Congratulations to Dawn Vavala and Rich Landers for the 25-26 Rotarian of the Year award…both well deserved and exemplify Service above Self.

Congratulations to all board members and I will be serving as immediate past president for the year ahead.

I wish our new president, (starting tomorrow) Andrea Downing, an amazing successful year ahead!!

At last night’s dinner meeting we had the honor of presenting this year’s Chuck Chera scholarship for $1,000 to Zakhar Zaporizhskyi, who was accompanied by his parents. Zakhar is currently a student at Shaker High School and will be attending Hudson Valley Community College to study auto mechanics.

The family came to this country from Ukraine because of the war and to seek new opportunities.

Congratulations to Zakhar and good luck with continuing your education. We look forward to hearing how you’re doing and hope to see you back sometime in late fall.

It was great having CNY President, Bob Balk, visit with Twin Bridges Rotary at our monthly dinner meeting last night at Delmonicos in Clifton Park.
