At last night’s dinner meeting we had the honor of presenting this year’s Chuck Chera scholarship for $1,000 to Zakhar Zaporizhskyi, who was accompanied by his parents. Zakhar is currently a student at Shaker High School and will be attending Hudson Valley Community College to study auto mechanics.

The family came to this country from Ukraine because of the war and to seek new opportunities.

Congratulations to Zakhar and good luck with continuing your education. We look forward to hearing how you’re doing and hope to see you back sometime in late fall.

It was great having CNY President, Bob Balk, visit with Twin Bridges Rotary at our monthly dinner meeting last night at Delmonicos in Clifton Park.

May’s Rotarian Spotlight is on me (Maria Sorriento). My year as President is coming to an end on June 30.

I hope you have enjoyed the monthly Spotlight’s this past year….I thought it was important to shine a light on the amazing and beautiful men and women who are part of Rotary who give of their time to helping out in the community and making this Club what it is.

A very special thanks to my right-hand person this year, and a very dear friend, Rich Landers, who has interviewed and written the profiles for each Rotarian.

June’s spotlight will be on incoming president-elect, Andrea Downing.

This year’s theme has been ‘Unite for Good’ ….
