The Site Readiness for Good Jobs in partnership with The Cleveland Foundation, Land Studio, and Cuyahoga County Land Bank were honored to host this visit with Congresswoman Shontel Brown, which included a tour of the Midline District and an overview of its transformative potential for the Central neighborhood, the City of Cleveland, and Ohio’s 11th Congressional District.

We were excited to share the stories of the residents, the strategic vision, and the collaborative planning that continues to drive this initiative forward. The Midline District represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create meaningful economic growth, expand workforce opportunities, and strengthen the long-term vitality of the Central Neighborhood.

As we continue to elevate the Midline District, our goal is for it to serve as a premier economic engine, not only for the Central neighborhood, but for the entire Northeast Ohio region.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Congresswoman Shontel Brown for taking the time to visit the district and engage with this important work. We also thank all of our partners whose collaboration and commitment continue to move this initiative forward. We look forward to our continued partnership and the ongoing success of the Midline District and the many transformative projects being advanced through the Site Readiness Team.

We would like to thank WKYC Channel 3 for highlighting the 7000 Central redevelopment project and our partnership with MMY. This transformational investment will create more than 150 jobs in the Central community and serve as a catalyst for launching the Midline Industrial District, paving the way for thousands of new jobs over time.

This is just the beginning. We are excited to continue working alongside our valued partners as we establish the Midline as a premier destination for job creation, housing development, and generational economic opportunity for the residents of Cleveland’s Central neighborhood.

The Big Bets Convening event brought together leaders from across the nation to discuss workforce development, innovation, economic growth, housing, and the future of American communities. What emerged was a powerful recognition that Cleveland is uniquely positioned to lead in creating opportunities that benefit not only our region, but communities across the country.

The investments, partnerships, and ideas shared throughout the conference reinforced what we have long believed: preparing communities for future growth starts with being ready today. Through site readiness, strategic investment, and cross-sector collaboration, Cleveland and Northeast Ohio are building the foundation needed to attract new industries, create quality jobs, and strengthen neighborhoods for generations to come.

The message from this gathering was clear: people are increasingly willing to bet on Cleveland. They see the talent, resilience, leadership, grit, and collaborative spirit that have always defined our region. More importantly, they see a community committed to turning vision into action.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to advancing projects and partnerships that position Cleveland, Northeast Ohio, and Ohio for long-term success. The future will be shaped by communities willing to prepare for it, invest in it, and work together to build it.

Thank you to all of the partners, leaders, organizations, and community members who continue to believe in this work and in the promise of our region. Together, we are creating opportunities that will have an impact far beyond our city limits.

Today, staff members from Site Readiness For Good Jobs Fund, including Orlando O Grant and Richard Barga, appeared on WKYC Channel 3’s morning news program with anchor Danita Harris to discuss the The Midline and the exciting opportunities and successes it is creating for our community.

During the interview, we highlighted where the project stands today, our vision for the future, and the transformative impact we believe it will have on the Central and Fairfax neighborhoods. The conversation focused on the progress that has been made, the investments being planned, and the opportunities that will help strengthen and revitalize the community for generations to come.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Danita Harris for her support and for helping shine a spotlight on this important initiative. We also thank WKYC Channel 3 for providing a platform to share the story of this impactful work.

The Site Readiness Fund and its multitude of partners would like to sincerely thank News 5 Cleveland for recently highlighting the release of the Midline District. Just one week ago, we proudly announced the largest industrial development initiative in Cleveland’s history, and we are excited about the transformational impact this project will have on the city’s east side and throughout Northeast Ohio.

Midline represents a bold vision for economic growth, job creation, and long-term community investment. This 350-acre development will transform former industrial land and vacant parcels into a connected employment hub featuring industrial, office, and retail space, along with a public greenway connecting major job centers.

Once fully realized, the Midline District is projected to support more than 2,500 jobs and generate up to $100 million in annual tax revenue, creating a lasting economic engine for the City of Cleveland.

We are grateful to News 5 Cleveland for helping share this exciting milestone with the community. Stay tuned for additional announcements and continued progress as we move this historic development forward.
