The Cleveland Association of Broadcasters mourns the passing of a longtime friend and familiar voice of Cleveland broadcasting, Mike Creagan, who has passed away at age 80.

Mike was a respected news reporter and broadcaster at WJW Channel 8 in Cleveland during the 1970s and 1980s. Over his distinguished career at Channel 8, he had the opportunity to interview notable figures including Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, and Luciano Pavarotti.

Rest in peace, Mike. Thank you for your decades of dedication to Cleveland journalism and our local community.

The Cleveland Association of Broadcasters mourns the passing of a longtime friend and contributor, Pat Brady—our beloved "traffic angel" and the iconic voice of the Buzzard Skyway Patrol and FOX 8's first SkyFox.

Through much of the '80s, Greater Cleveland radio listeners relied on Pat to guide them through their morning commutes. Pat's verbally illustrative reports on WMMS set the gold standard. Clevelanders always loved watching her aircraft soar overhead displaying the Buzzard insignia, delivering updates no matter the conditions on Jeff and Flash and the Buzzard Morning Zoo.
Pat later continued her incredible aviation and traffic legacy as FOX 8's first SkyFox traffic reporter from 1998 to 2008.

Rest in peace, Pat. Thank you for always getting us to our destinations safely.

The CAB mourns the passing of a longtime friend and contributor David A. Urbach. Known as "Radio Dave," he passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 76 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Professionally, David made his mark as a longtime radio executive, earning the nickname "Radio Dave" for his passion and influence in the broadcasting world. His larger-than-life presence, vision, and leadership helped shape the airwaves, and his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his work. Beyond his career and service, David was a special friend to many.

A celebration of life will be held in David's honor at a later date, where friends and family will gather to share memories and pay tribute to a life well lived. Please go to Sunset Memorial's website for updates.

In remembrance of Radio Dave, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cleveland VA Hospital, a cause close to his heart.
