The Mayor's Office is accepting applications for new members of the Community Police Commission. The application deadline is Wednesday August 5th and they are looking to fill seven (7) seats that will be vacant come December.
The Mayor can appoint up to three (3) police association representatives to the CPC. Of the current expiring terms, two (2) of those were held by police association representatives (FOP and Black Shield).
Further, Paragraph 16 the Consent Decree requires CPPA, FOP, and Black Shield to each recommend at least one member for consideration.
At a minimum, please consider filing the application and decide later!!
Interested members can apply online at www.clevelandohio.gov/cpc-application or applications can be dropped off at City Hall (Mayor's Office, Rm 202) or mailed to:

The Mayor's Office is accepting applications for new members of the Community Police Commission. The application deadline is today, July 31st and they are looking to fill seven (7) seats that will be vacant come December.

Let us never forget! This assault on Cleveland Police in 1968 not only left 4 officers dead and injured many, but also scarred responding officers with the then un-named PTSD for the rest of their lives.

May God Bless with Eternal Rest Lt. Leroy Jones, Officer Louis Golonka , Officer Willard Wolff and Officer Tom Smith.

On July 23rd, 1968, three Cleveland Police Officers and one civilian “Good Samaritan” gave their lives protecting the residents of Cleveland.  Twelve other Officers and a Police Tow Truck Driver were wounded and one of the Officers remained paralyzed and ultimately died of his wounds years late...
