Parents, are you looking for opportunities to advance your career? Check out this wonderful program that supports you and your children!

Applications are now open for the next Multi-Generational Healthcare Career Acceleration Program.

This eight-week program from Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast helps parents prepare for careers in healthcare while their children participate in educational and enrichment activities.

Participants can access healthcare career training, industry-recognized certification opportunities, career coaching, workforce support, and WIOA services for eligible participants.

The previous cohort saw all 11 participating parents earn their Certified Nursing Assistant certification, while 14 youth took part in educational programming.

Our monthly meeting was packed with new and old partners coming together to wish a heartfelt goodbye to one of the our dearest community leaders and the lead of the coalition, Gicela Mitchell 💚

She dedicated eight years of her life to the Family and Community Coalition of East Texas and helped it become what it is today. Her passionate, loving and driven personality inspired many to follow and has left a lasting impact in the community. Thank you for all you do!

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Tyra Hodge with the Resilience Leadership Academy . She gave a presentation about her agency as our guest speaker 🙌

Thank you to all who joined us today, and we will see you at our next meeting!

Calling to everyone in our community 📣 Please take a moment to read this important important information from one of our FCCET partners, Texas Familias Council. Mark the dates on your calendar!

Dear Amigos,

We are in a critical time in our state. The Texas Familias Council has advocated for our empowered families and community for many years. Our members have spent decades serving our communities across Texas, through multiple disaster recovery efforts, public health crisis, and political upheavals that impact our first and second generation families especially hard. We know that voting is the essential piece in building a more responsive and respectful social structure across this state. At home we learn to love and value our family journey. Every struggle and triumph shapes us, but we exist beyond our individual homes. We are part of a precious fabric of community. For some this is a spiritual connection, for others it is an economic interdependence. Community is all of it playing out daily in challenging us to grow and learn to build life together. Voting proclaims our voice, our investment in our future. Our children deserve more love, more health, more protection, more opportunities, and our elders deserve these too. Let us lift up our voices, and our hope with our votes this fall. Blessings amigos
