The Cleveland Ohio Division 133 of the U.N.I.A. & A.C.L is one of the oldest remaining Chapters of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League. was founded by the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey in Jamaica, West Indies in 1914 and in Harlem, New York in 1918. A chapter of the UNIA & ACL was organized in Cleveland Ohio in 1921. This great Association was founded and wo

rked to uplift and empower people of African Descent. Marcus Garvey worked to uplift Black Nationalism/Pan-Africanism, the unification of all African people (people of African descent) to become empowered with knowledge of their history, culture and contributions to the world. The UNIA & ALC goal is to empower African people to develop and maintain self-determination, race pride for economic and political independence. President Bill Ramsey of the Cleveland Division 133 of the UNIA & ACL is holding regular meetings and working to restore the UNIA & ACL to it once great presence in Cleveland, Ohio, which was once the international headquarters of the UNIA & ACL.
