At last year we had a midnight surprise - a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend the luxury wellness for a one week all inclusive stay with a plus one. All Challengers who hadn’t missed a mile yet, and who had hit their fundraising goal, earned an entry. It was a first-time Challenger, Kayla MacFadden, who won the trip - and she just got back from a week climbing mountains! 🏔️

Kayla shared, “We just got home from an amazing week at Movara. Sure made those 24 miles feel EXTRA worth it (and left me just as sore as they did, lol). We loved it. Exceeded expectations. The hikes were amazing, the energy is great, we made so many new friends we’re going to try and keep in touch with. Feeling so strong!”

Meet Ernie. At 76 years old, Ernie was our most senior participant at the 2025 24 in 24 event. That didn’t stop him from completing one mile, every hour, for 24 consecutive hours. Ernie shared a bit of his story with us that we felt compelled to share:

“Two weeks before the event I was diagnosed with AFib- but my doctor gave me the okay to participate. I am also type 1 diabetic, so there are some challenges for me in an event of this type. I was a competitive runner for about 20 years until I broke my neck in 5 places in a bike accident back on Father’s Day in 2011. I did run a few more races after the fact, including one more marathon, but it just wasn’t the same. Despite all of this, I’m still able to walk those miles at 24 in 24.”

Each year The 24 in 24 makes an incredible impact. We don’t just raise money once, we prove that this community can do it year, after year, after year. We proved this during Covid, when the world shut down (and almost all charity events were cancelled) - not us. We’ve proven it during times of economic distress when budgets were tighter - doesn’t stop us.

How? Because our community takes ownership of this event. Every runner, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and family owns a piece of The 24 in 24. It belongs to all of you, and that’s how we manage to raise an unbelievable amount every single year.

In 2025 we proven, once again, that The 24 in 24 community can do INCREDIBLE things, year after year. Our 11th Annual event was debatably our best ever, and we raised another mind-blowing $565,000 for Ohio children battling life-threatening illnesses.

AND SO, WE RUN. 🩷
