Horizons at CWRU

Horizons at CWRU Horizons is a mentoring organization bringing together high-school students, undergraduates, and medical students to promote intellectual curiosity.

The Horizons program is a mentoring organization in which medical school students from Case Western medical school and undergraduates from Case Western Reserve come together to form close knit groups with high-school students for the benefit of all three levels of students. The mission of Horizons is to utilize the field of medicine to empower inner city teens as learners and teachers, in order to

support their intrinsic motivations to achieve academically. Through a combination of clinical exposure, problem-based learning, role model exposure, self-reflection and the creation of a public service announcement (PSA), this program seeks to help close our nation’s academic achievement gap among students of varying racial and socioeconomic demographics.

Today, Horizons exec members Pavan Krishnan, Riddhi Patel, and Tara Tran (not pictured) met with Laura Reiser, Student Service Coordinator from CCEL (Center for Civic Engagement and Learning) to discuss fundraising options and grant opportunities along with increased coverage/support. Keep on the lookout for new initiatives on the undergrad side!!
