AmeriCorps Ocoee's VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) program works in Bradley County to alleviate poverty through indirect service.

Our goal is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering.

Yesterday, we had 6 new VISTAs join our AmeriCorps Ocoee team! Welcome Rita, Shelby, Zion, Cheyanne, Lexi, and Jessica as they begin their service experience.

We are so excited to see the work they will contribute at Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Habitat for Humanity, Polk County Resource Hub, Boys & Girls Club YouthForce, and Family Promise over the next year!

Today's VISTA Cohort Meeting was a great opportunity to learn, grow, and connect!🌟

Together, we explored our Myers-Briggs personality types and Enneagrams, discovering how they influence the way we communicate, collaborate, and serve at our sites. We also had the chance to recognize one another's unique strengths and celebrate the different perspectives each person brings to the Cohort.

We can't wait to put our strengths into action as we continue serving our community!💙

Tuesday Night, United Way attended the Night of Hope ! We got to share about the amazing opportunity that the AmeriCorps VISTA Program provides individuals who have no college education or are currently in-school. The Segal Education Award helps VISTA Volunteers pay off Student Loans or plan to attend college in the future.
