House of Mews is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, cage free, foster based, no-kill all volunteer cat & kitten rescue located in Northeast Ohio.

ADOPTION POLICY:

It is IMPORTANT TO NOTE – House of Mews rescue reserves the right to decline any application without explanation. If you refuse to follow our adoption process by not answering our screening questions you will automatically be declined to adopt a cat/kitten from us. That “applying for a HOM cat” is not a binding agreement to adopt, nor is it a guaranteed approval. It is purely par

t of our procedure that begins our screening process to make a final adoption decision.

1. Complete our no-obligation Adoption Application. By doing so, our Adoption Coordinator better understands your preferences and can pinpoint which cat meets your requirements and home environment.

2. Our Adoption Coordinator will review the application and contact you should we believe we have a match and start our screening process.

3. If approved, a meet and greet will be arranged with the foster of the cat/kitten of interest.

4. Our final step is adopting from HOM. Approved adopters will sign a HOM Adoption Contract. By signing, the adopter agrees to provide the cat/kitten with a safe, stable, healthy physical environment, with ongoing veterinary care for the lifetime of the cat. House of Mews rescue adopts to residents of Northeast Ohio. Adoptions to residents outside this area are considered on a case-by-case basis.

SURRENDER POLICY:

By surrendering a companion animal to House of Mews rescue (HOM) all rights and ownership to this pet will be waived. HOM will then take ownership of the animal.

1. Send an email to our intake coordinator at [email protected]

2. The intake coordinator will respond and let you know if we have space available.

3. If approved, a surrender location will be identified.

4. At the time of surrender, you will be asked to complete and sign surrender form.

5. The animal is then relinquished and becomes the sole responsibility of HOM.

6. Adoption proceedings will be pursued.

7. Should you want to adopt a cat which you have surrendered, please follow our adoption process noted above. NOTE: HOM considers a companion animal to be a pre-owned family pet. Congratulations on adopting sweet Gracie from House of Mews Rescue! We are so excited that this precious girl has found such a loving forever home.

Thank you for opening your heart and home to Gracie and for giving her the second chance she deserves. We know she will be showered with love, comfort, and happiness for years to come. In return, we're certain she'll fill your days with purrs, cuddles, and endless joy.

🐾 Josie Update! A Story of Strength, Survival, and Love 🐾

Many of you may remember Josie and her three siblings, who were cruelly thrown from a moving car earlier this year. Tragically, one of the kittens was struck by a vehicle and did not survive. It was a heartbreaking start to life for these innocent babies.

Josie faced her own battle when veterinarians discovered she needed emergency surgery to remove a damaged kidney. Thanks to the incredible care she received and the support of so many people cheering her on, we're happy to share that Josie's surgery was a success!

Today, we have even more wonderful news to celebrate. 🎉❤️

Josie and her sister Jenni have officially found their Forever HOMe together! We couldn't be happier for these sweet girls. After everything they've endured, they are now safe, loved, and living the life they always deserved with a family who adores them.

Thank you to everyone who supported their journey, shared their story, donated, fostered, and kept them in your thoughts & prayers. Stories like Josie's remind us that even after the darkest beginnings, hope, kindness, and love can change lives.

Kitten Spot Light: Benny!!

Benny is the happiest kitten ever! He had a bit of a difficult start but since his rescue, he knows his life has changed for the better forever.

Benny is an active kitten. He especially loves to wrestle with and chew on the resident cats in his foster home. Benny loves other cats and would he would do best in a home where he has a life time buddy.

Benny will purr and cuddle when you love on him. He may be a bit timid when you first meet him. I mean, who could blame him, out in the big scary world all by himself will make most kitties a bit hesitant. But he warms up super fast. He just wants to live his best life with a loving family.

🐾 Basket Donations Needed for Our 10th Annual Kitten Ka Noodle Fundraiser! 🐾

House of Mews Rescue is excited to host our 10th Annual Kitten Ka Noodle Fundraiser on Saturday, September 19th, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Redhawk Grille, and we're looking for generous supporters to help make this milestone event our best one yet!

We are currently seeking gift basket donations for our raffle. Popular themes include wine & spirits, coffee lovers, pet lovers, lottery tickets, spa & self-care, sports, family fun, and more—but all creative ideas are welcome!

Raffle baskets are always one of the highlights of Kitten Ka Noodle. Your donation helps create excitement for our guests, encourages participation, and most importantly, raises critical funds to provide food, medical care, vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and safe shelter for cats and kittens in need.

Every basket donated directly helps us continue our lifesaving mission. Whether you donate a complete basket, gift cards, or items we can combine into a basket, your support makes a meaningful difference for the animals depending on us.

Josie UPDATE:

Josie (Coco) surgery was successful! They did remove her kidney because it was filling with urine! She is home with me “resting”. 1st thing she did was run and check on her sister, these two take very good care of each other!

😻😻😻 Again thank you Trinity Veterinary Hospital for getting her in and Sherri Johnson for watching over her and keeping me updated! It really takes a village!

We are asking for donations to help cover her surgery costs. Remember whether it’s a $1,$2, or $5 every bit helps us continue to save life's.
