The late BLET Division 607 President Lou Shuster will finally be honored following his passing on the job 3 years ago.

Our Board is humbled to report that House Bill 360 was passed last night by the Ohio Senate and is on its was to the Governor's desk for a signature. HB360 designates the interchange between I-480 and 150th Street in Cleveland as the SPC Louis P. Shuster Memorial Interchange. Brother Lou was tragically lost at work on March 7, 2023 and this bill will forever remember his life and impact. Thank you to Sean P Brennan and Ty Mathews for carrying our bill, and to the entire Ohio Legislature - it passed both the House and Senate unanimously.

We’ve wrapped up Day 2 of the 30th AFL-CIO Convention.

We adopted six resolutions today, committing our movement to build worker power, grow union membership by at least 2 million workers by 2032, recommit to the fight for civil rights, strengthen our advocacy for comprehensive immigration reform, and support a boycott of Target while encouraging union and local shopping alternatives.

We also heard reports on new organizing victories and the continued growth of the AFL-CIO Sports Council. The day featured remarks from legendary labor and civil rights leader Dolores Huerta who was honored with the Federation’s first 'Si Se Puede' award.
