We were excited to officially welcome our newest Board Member, Matheus Venancio Arêas of Margaret W. Wong & Associates to Esperanza for his board orientation alongside Interim Leader Zulayka Ruiz and Director of Operations Jeff McKissick.

As a representative of one of Esperanza’s longtime supporters and community partners, Matheus already understands the importance of our mission and the impact Esperanza continues to make across Northeast Ohio. 🏀 The playoff energy across Cleveland is REAL!

Esperanza was proud to welcome the Cavs Care team to our headquarters as the Cleveland Cavaliers continue their playoff run against the New York Knicks! 🔥

Our team came together to celebrate the excitement, pride, and community spirit that playoff basketball brings to Northeast Ohio, complete with a special Cavaliers banner to help us rally behind the team 🙌

Thank you to the Cavaliers organization for continuing to uplift communities across our region and create moments that bring people together both on and off the court.

Our Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellow, Lucas Nogueira Balaniuc, brought his entire PSF cohort to Esperanza HQ! The group got a real look at our work; meeting staff, touring the building, and sitting down for a panel conversation with Director of Operations Jeff Mckissick and Board member (and Esperanza alumnus!) William G. Rodriguez.

Watching Lucas take the lead on something like this, and seeing his peers engage so genuinely with our team, was a good reminder of why programs like this matter.

The Cleveland Foundation's Public Service Fellows initiative places emerging civic leaders across nonprofits and public institutions throughout Greater Cleveland, connecting the next generation of changemakers to the communities they'll serve. We're proud of our ongoing partnership with the Cleveland Foundation, proud to be part of this initiative, and especially proud of Lucas for everything he's brought to Esperanza.
