The Cleveland Lions Club sponsored the 52nd annual Cleveland Christmas parade on Saturday, December 5, 2025 on a bone chilling day. The parade has been an annual event since 1972 and has been held in all forms of weather. Rain or shine the show must and does go on. (With the exception of Covid year) The parade has always had a hometown feel, showcased local folks and activities and today’s parade was no different.
The parade stepped off at 2:00pm from the Fifteen Sports Complex (old West Rowan YMCA) and traveled west toward highway 70 and Freightliner. The Cleveland Police lead the way followed by the West Rowan JROTC and West Rowan High School Band, Antique cars and tractors, Cub and Boy Scouts, Kings & Queens, Football players, Fire Trucks, Choirs, ATVs and many horses were also in attendance.
Today parade was very well attended by entries and attendees alike.
Entries are accepted in regular, religious, antique (auto, truck, and tractor), commercial, king/queen, humorous, and horse categories. Our parade still allows horses (which were positioned behind the marching entries) and we still allow candy to be tossed so there was plenty to be had by the young spectators(and young at heart). Santa on top of one of the Cleveland Fire Department fire trucks brought up the rear in his sleigh built by the Cleveland Fire Department.
Thanks to all the entries and spectators for another wonderful parade and supporting the Cleveland Lions Club and the town of Cleveland. A special thank you to our judges who are normally selected from the spectators as it gives the community an opportunity to be involved. Our judges this year were: Lions District Governor W. Steve Cline from Thomasville, 1st Vice Governor Sandy Fraser-Thomas and Simon Thomas both of Salisbury.
Congratulations to all our winners.
