A generous donor has made it possible for FIVE teenagers to take our Mixed Media Collage class for free!

This college class is all about process over perfection - a space where students can experiment freely, try new materials, and enjoy some spontaneous making.

Each week, artists will dive into hands-on exploration using magazines, decorative papers, paint, markers, and mixed media. Students will practice techniques on inexpensive boards to warm up and play before moving to higher-quality gallery panels, helping them learn without pressure and embrace the idea that “messing up” is simply part of becoming a stronger artist.

Our Pixel to Play Art Camp was a week full of learning, play, and creativity!

Led by instructor Joanna Taylor, the students learned the basics of storytelling while creating their very own characters. After making Shrinky D**k characters and key chains, the students created more complex characters to fit on Indi Robots and travel through their very own, unique courses!

Thank you, Joanna, for sharing your knowledge and skill with our young learners! Keep an eye on our website, as our upcoming fall classes will continue to help our creativity shine!
