Stay informed, not fearful.

There are currently no confirmed Ebola cases in Kenya, but health officials remain on high alert due to outbreaks in neighboring regions. The U.S. and Kenya are working together to strengthen screening, preparedness, and public health response efforts.

Knowledge, prevention, and early action help protect communities. Please rely on trusted health sources and practice safe travel and hygiene measures.

šŸ’œ Endometriosis Explained šŸ’œ
Did you know 1 in 10 women of reproductive age are affected by endometriosis? Yet many suffer for years before receiving the right diagnosis.

Endometriosis happens when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, leading to symptoms that can seriously impact daily life.

āš ļø Common warning signs include:
• Severe menstrual cramps that don’t improve with medication
• Pain during s*x, bowel movements, or urination
• Heavy or irregular periods
• Chronic pelvic pain and fatigue
• Unexplained infertility

Too often, these symptoms are dismissed as ā€œjust bad periods.ā€ They’re not.

šŸ’” Listen to your body.
If something doesn’t feel right, speak with a healthcare professional. Early awareness and diagnosis can make a huge difference.
Let’s keep educating, supporting, and advocating for women’s health.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month šŸ’™
Colorectal cancer is common but highly preventable and treatable when caught early. Regular screening starting at age 45 can save lives, even without symptoms.

Know the signs:
• Persistent changes in bowel habits
• Blood in the stool
• Abdominal pain or cramping
• Unexplained weight loss
• Ongoing fatigue

Early detection is key. Get screened and encourage your loved ones to do the same.

Kenya has received an initial shipment of 21,000 starter doses of the long-acting injectable Lenacapavir for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

Lenacapavir is not a vaccine or a cure for HIV. It is a preventive treatment that significantly reduces the risk of acquiring HIV in people who are HIV-negative.

Administered just twice a year, the medication is expected to be offered at an estimated annual cost of approximately KES 7,800 per patient—a dramatic reduction from its previous price of about USD 42,000 per year.

This progress is encouraging. Still, we believe this medication must be accessible, available, and affordable to everyone who needs it—because prevention should never be a privilege.
