Case SHPE Welcome to the official page for the CWRU Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers! All The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Inc.

is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the participation of college students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The National organization is composed of individual chapters all throughout the nation, from High School to Professional Levels, which invest in creating a richer and more diverse professional environment for all underrepresented

minorities in STEM fields. Our chapter was founded on January 2013 at Case Western Reserve University. Our chapter meets every other week at CWRU to discuss professional opportunities and develop professional skills. We also work on meeting and networking with professionals, receiving advice on various STEM fields, and preparing and attending Regional and National Conferences! Vision: Creating a Case Western Reserve and Cleveland community where Hispanic, Latino and Minority members are highly valued and influential as the leading Innovators, Scientists, Mathematicians, and Engineers.

Hola a todes! This Thursday we are having a Latine en Medicina Panel for students interested in pursuing future careers in medicine/healthcare. This panel will consist of Dra. Lorena Reyna (Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist) and Jose Reyes (CWRU SOM MS1).

Join us Saturday, October 17 from 6-8 PM EST for our annual Gala Latina co-hosted by La Alianza and CWRU SHPE! This year, the theme is “Nuestra Voz” as we celebrate Latinx voices, achievements, culture, and leadership. We encourage everyone to attend our formal event of the Fall for discussions on what it means to be Latinx, recognize exceptional students, faculty/staff and alumni, and a talk from Illinois House Representative, Edgar Gonzalez Jr.!

Registration for the event can be done through CampusGroups. Undergraduate and Graduate students do not have to pay to register, but a suggested donation of $5 can be made. Alumni, Faculty/Staff, and members of the community have a registration cost of $5.

We will be taking photos of members this Saturday on campus from 11 AM - 2 PM. Please check your emails for more details. We will be following appropriate measures to prevent spread. We will be also helping members look up companies for the SHPE National Convention to apply for internships, jobs, and more starting at 4 PM. It is mandatory for those attending the convention to attend this meeting.
