Just weeks after making history in Cleveland, Ohio, USS Cleveland (LCS 31) has completed her maiden transit to homeport in Naval Station Mayport, Florida.

In May, thousands gathered on Cleveland’s waterfront to witness the historic commissioning of USS Cleveland (LCS 31). That journey now comes full circle as Cleveland’s Sailors reunite with their families and loved ones after successfully bringing their ship home.

Since departing Marinette, Wisconsin more than 40 days ago, the crew traveled 2,739 nautical miles, spent 155 hours navigating restricted waters, completed 15 lock transits, visited four ports, transited four of the five Great Lakes, and most importantly, transformed a newly commissioned ship into a warship ready for service.

The USS Cleveland Legacy Foundation was honored to support the ship’s homecoming celebrations, continuing our mission to strengthen the bond between the City of Cleveland, the crew of USS Cleveland, and the families who serve alongside them.
