It is always wonderful to welcome back Chase for another playhouse build! Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication help create special spaces where children can learn, play, and dream.

Through Greater Cleveland Habitat's Playhouse Project, volunteers and community partners come together to build custom playhouses for local children and families, creating lasting memories and opportunities for imaginative play.

Thank you to Mike DeWine and the Department of Development for supporting Greater Cleveland Habitat and 10 other Habitat affiliates with Welcome Home Ohio Funding! This was the first year Habitat’s were eligible to apply directly for this funding, and affiliates in both urban and rural communities embraced the opportunity to apply for much-needed support for homeownership opportunities.

In Greater Cleveland, we look forward to receiving $1.4 million to support homes in our 400-Home Initiative. Additionally, we were proud partners in the County Land Reutilization Corporation’s application, which will receive $902,000.

Thanks as always to Governor DeWine, the Ohio State Legislature, and the Dept. of Development for their incredible partnership!

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who came out on May 15 and 16 to help with a wall build for one of the homes in Pope Leo Village! Your time, energy, and dedication are helping bring safe, affordable housing closer to reality for local families.

June is Homeownership Month, and we are excited to celebrate our vision: "A world where everyone has a decent place to live."

Today, we're especially celebrating the families who have achieved homeownership and the life-changing impact it creates. More than 90% of homeowners agreed that their home provides more space and less crowding, improved affordability, greater optimism about the future, and increased confidence in caring for their family.

Homeownership is more than owning a house—it's about stability, opportunity, and building a brighter future. This month, we celebrate the families, communities, and partnerships that make that future possible. 🏠❤️

Join us for our 25th Annual Walk.Run.Mosey on Saturday, July 18 at Edgewater Park — a morning packed with fun for the whole family (including the dog🐾!).

🏅 A 5K for runners and walkers
🧟‍♂️ A fun 1-mile loop featuring silly activities like hopping like a bunny and walking like a zombie!

In 2023, the State of Ohio allocated $25 million to Habitat affiliates across Ohio to support new homeownership opportunities, critical home repairs, and construction workforce development initiatives. We’re ecstatic that affiliates across the state worked together to spend all $25 million (and then some) to support over 300 new homeownership opportunities and over 1,000 home repairs. This video highlights the collaboration between Habitat and the Ohio Department of Development to make a difference in the lives of thousands of Ohioans.

With Habitat’s unique model and network, we’re able to collaborate to impact both urban and rural communities, as well as new and long-time homeowners. Thanks so much to our partners at the State for their support, and we look forward to continuing to work together to combat our housing crisis!

Mondays have been extra special at Greater Cleveland Habitat thanks to one incredible freshman student from Saint Martin de Porres High School!

From counting pennies and completing data entry, to sorting and organizing ReStore donations, and even preparing envelopes to be mailed to homeowners — he has jumped in wherever help was needed with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

We are so grateful for the time, care, and energy he shared with our team each week. Students like this remind us that every task, big or small, helps build stronger communities and supports local families on their homeownership journey.

Thank you for making a difference with us this school year!
