This week's comes from CVS Pharmacy. At the beginning of the summer, Aalayah walked into CVS ready to learn — and she has absolutely delivered. She showed up on time, took on every task with a great attitude, and made a real impression on her team and customers alike.

Completing a summer work experience is no small thing. It takes commitment, patience, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone, and Aalayah brought all of that and then some.

We could not be prouder of you, Aalayah. Congratulations on a job well done — this is just the beginning!

This week's highlights Charmayne, a new dining services assistant at Creative Dining Services in MRI Software.

Creative Dining Services and MRI Software reached out to the ECCC looking for some help filling a role within their cafeteria. Charmayne and her team from HELP Foundation were quick to apply knowing her personality and skill set would be a perfect match. Charmayne has spent a few years training at Help Harvest Kitchen in Lakewood and working on skills at Susanna’s Cafe in the new Cleveland Foundation building. This experience and training made her a great candidate and Creative Dining was quick to set up an interview.

Charmayne was hired in May and is learning and growing in her role everyday. She loves her position, the team, and how much they have helped her learn new culinary skills.

This is a great example of a great employer, the right opportunity, and the perfect job match all coming together!!

The ECCC welcomed guests from the The Matsush*ta Institute of Government and Management in Japan. Four graduate students from MIGM found the ECCC's website during their research and wanted to learn about our innovative strategy to connect local businesses to talented job seekers with disabilities and barriers to employment.

During their trip we were able to take them to the Cleveland Guardians to showcase a model employer for disability inclusion and accessibility. Thank you to our guests for coming to visit us and The Cleveland Guardians for their hospitality.
