It is through the support of The Dalton Foundation that healthcare can be delivered around the world and to the people of Mango. The Dalton Foundation is a grant-making and program-based philanthropic non-profit that serves Northeastern Ohio and third-world countries abroad. The foundation exists to provide hope and effect positive change in the lives of women and children, those in need of health

care, individuals struggling with addictions returning home from incarceration, by developing strategic partnerships on a local, national, and global scale; reaching out effectively to “the least of these” in greatest need.

We are excited to share The Dalton Foundation’s 2025 Impact Report, celebrating a year of progress, partnership, and purpose. This report reflects the heart of our mission: a shared commitment to strengthening and supporting our four giving pillars—healthcare, reentry after incarceration, addiction recovery, and women & children.

This year’s work spans the globe and touches communities here at home. Internationally, we continue to partner with hospitals and organizations to strengthen healthcare systems by improving medical equipment management, strengthening supply chains, and providing vital clinical and mental health training. At the same time, relink.org is helping people across the U.S. access vital community resources, supporting reentry, connecting individuals to addiction recovery, and empowering families to thrive.

None of this impact would be possible without the dedication of our partners, supporters, and colleagues who share our vision. We are especially grateful to the Dalton Family for their leadership and generosity, as well as to every organization and individual who helps turn our mission into reality.

Using Technology to Accelerate Biomedical Repair Capacity in Guatemala

One of the key goals of The Dalton Foundation’s recent visit to Guatemala was to explore how emerging technologies—particularly AI—can help accelerate training and capacity building for biomedical professionals.

In partnership with Portal and the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology, our team met with biomedical technicians working in hospitals across Guatemala to better understand the challenges they face in maintaining and repairing critical medical equipment.

These conversations were both insightful and encouraging. Together, we explored practical ways that AI-powered tools could support biomedical teams by helping diagnose equipment failures, providing real-time technical guidance, enabling seamless communication across languages, and connecting local technicians with experienced experts in the United States when complex issues arise.

Strengthening biomedical capacity is essential to ensuring that life-saving medical equipment remains functional and available to patients. By leveraging technology alongside local expertise, we see real potential to dramatically accelerate learning, troubleshooting, and system-wide support.

We are excited to continue working with our partners to turn these ideas into practical solutions in the months ahead—and to support the incredible biomedical professionals who keep hospitals running every day.

During our recent trip to Guatemala, we had the privilege of meeting with the leadership team at Faith In Practice (FIP) to explore their most pressing equipment needs and operational challenges. These candid discussions provided invaluable insight into how we can support FIP in strengthening their healthcare delivery.

Building on these conversations, we are excited to connect FIP with partner organizations like College of Biomedical Equipment Technology and resources to help procure the critical equipment their hospital partners require. In collaboration with reLink Medical we will work to identify suitable refurbished medical equipment that meets quality standards and aligns with each facility’s specific needs.

Supporting sustainable, practical solutions for healthcare facilities worldwide is at the heart of what we do—and partnerships like these make a tangible difference in the communities we serve.

Our Executive Director, Barbara Campbell, recently completed a strategic assessment trip to Guatemala alongside key partners from the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology, EzBiz Portal, and Rotary International

The purpose of the visit was to meet with in-country leaders — including Faith in Practice, OBRAS Hospital, and Hilario Galindo Hospital — to evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of implementing the Global Biomedical Solutions Program in the Guatemalan healthcare context.

We are encouraged to report that the trip was a tremendous success. Through meaningful conversations, site visits, and collaborative planning, it became clear that there is strong alignment and opportunity to strengthen healthcare delivery systems.

Together, we are exploring how to:

✅ Improve equipment standardization and procurement processes

✅Expand access to biomedical training and workforce development

✅ Apply AI-driven technology to equipment management, maintenance, and repair

We are grateful for the partnership, hospitality, and shared commitment to advancing sustainable healthcare solutions. We look forward to the next steps as we work collaboratively to improve the quality and reliability of healthcare services in Guatemala.

The Dalton Foundation was thrilled to join our partner reLink Medical at the –Ohio Conference in Columbus last week.

It was a great opportunity to share updates on our Global Biomedical Solutions (GBS) program, which is delivering wholistic healthcare technology solutions for low- and middle-income countries around the world.

We were especially encouraged to connect with key collaborators, including CBET – College of Biomedical Equipment Technology and EZ-Biz Portal, as we discussed important next steps in the rollout of GBS in Haiti.

We are grateful for strong partnerships and shared vision as we work together to strengthen healthcare systems and improve access to quality care globally. 🌍💙
