Hello, fellow peacemakers! As you may know, we have recently been organizing with many local activists to resist and hopefully cancel Mike Pence's planned address in Pangle Hall this Saturday. As such, we have written out and published a detailed petition to the administration of Lee University to reverse their decision to host Pence and America First Policies. The oppressive nature of Pence's political ideals are in complete contradiction with the values that we wish to uphold as Christians and as students of Lee, and we challenge our academic executives to recognize this fact. Please sign and share our petition, and join us in working towards a campus which represents love and solidarity to the oppressed and marginalized.

Peacemakers had the privilege of sending a delegation to the with the Red Letter Christians this weekend. We participated in a beautiful demonstration of enemy-love and restorative justice, pushing for a return to the words of Jesus in the midst of a rising nationalistic "gospel" among the evangelical Church. Blessings to Brother Shane Claiborne for helping organize this wonderful event, and may the Holy Spirit continue to sustain this movement!

Christ is Risen!

Through His death and resurrection, Our Lord Jesus embodied the ultimate example of liberation and reconciliation, freeing us from the bo***ge of sin and the grave and opening the way to the Kingdom of God once more. As followers of Christ, may we personify His character in our own lives, standing up for the oppressed and the poor and extending a hand of love to all, even to our enemies. Let us continue the work which Jesus started on this day, until He returns for the renewal of all things.

Peacemakers was proud to participate the today in Chattanooga, joining hundreds of thousands across the world to demand effective gun control. It is high time that this nation's leaders prioritized our own children over the gun lobby, a fact we all showed them today with a resounding "Enough!" We will never back down!

To the high school students of America: We at Lee University stand in solidarity with you as fellow students in a country where school shootings are more prevalent than any other location on earth. We are more than inspired by your passion and energy to end this cycle of violence. Your words and actions mean more than you could ever know. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't change the world; indeed, our generation will have the final say in this fight for justice, for we are the future. We WILL be on the right side of history!
