About Iron Workers Local Union 17
For over 100 years, Iron Workers Local No.17 has been dedicated to the growth of Northeast Ohio.
Members of Local 17 can be found all over the area installing reinforcing steel for concrete structures, erecting structural steel (bridges and buildings), assembling window walls (curtain walls), doing industrial maintenance (steel mills, auto plants, and power houses) and volunteering for civic causes.
You may be familiar with some of the work we’ve done on Cleveland landmarks such as the Detroit-Superior Bridge, Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame, Innerbelt Bridge, First Merit Convention Center of Cleveland, Hilton Hotel, various sports venues, Goodyear Headquarters (Akron Ohio) and Key Bank building.
Our current membership of over 900, which includes approximately 268 apprentices, are some of the best trained and hardest working men and women in the construction industry. With our partners in the contracting community, there is very little we cannot accomplish.
