Welch is a homegrown leader, advocate, and organizer running for State Representative (HD-20) to bring vision, expertise, and heart to the Statehouse to fight for our future. From my childhood home in Ohio City to my days at Jane Addams High School in the Central neighborhood, I’ve lived and worked across ward lines with the understanding that while our boundaries are drawn on paper, our struggles

and successes are shared in the streets we walk. For over a decade, I’ve been on the ground, in the trenches, doing the work. From my years navigating our K-12 classrooms to my work supporting our schools today, I have lived the challenges and triumphs of our students and families. And whether I was organizing tenants to stand against predatory out-of-state landlords, making tough calls to modernize our public transit, or fighting to give our local businesses the resources they need to thrive, I’ve been a constant presence in the neighborhoods we love, working with residents and community leaders to help move us all forward. We cannot afford to send leadership to the Statehouse that isn’t prepared to fight. We can't afford "business as usual" while our families, neighbors, and friends are being stretched thin and our voices are being silenced. We cannot let another generation of Cleveland students sit in underfunded classrooms or wonder if a diploma will be enough to build a life here. Our families are the backbone of this city, and they deserve a representative who sees our children’s potential as our greatest resource - not an afterthought. I’m running for State Representative because the hardworking, homegrown residents of Cleveland deserve a relentless advocate who won't back down until we get the resources and respect we’ve earned.

I’m always proud to exercise my right to vote because we stand on the shoulders of those who could not, and I believe in our collective power to create change together.

Last week, alongside the Cuyahoga County Young Democrats, the Democrats of Cleveland State University, and the Democrats of John Carroll University, I cast my ballot - not for me, but for all of us.

This is about our district. Our schools. Our neighbors. Our future.

He’s been fighting for workers’ dignity, protecting reproductive rights, holding Wall Street accountable, and pushing green jobs in Ohio. That’s what leadership looks like. We are one week out from Election Day and I couldn’t be more proud to receive the endorsement of Cleveland City Councilman Austin N. Davis.

Councilman Davis has always shown up for our community - not just with words, but with action. He has carried a clear mandate: defending workers’ rights, holding out-of-state slumlords accountable, and investing in the housing and transit our neighbors depend on every day.

We don’t just share those values. We share a belief that government works best when leaders are responsive, reliable, and rooted in the communities they serve. That is the kind of representation House District 20 deserves in Columbus.
