At one exact instant, a perfect balance is held for a fleeting moment—because of you; when a Guanlan Sister is given the chance to learn, the scales of her world lift, and her future stands, however briefly, in equal light.

On St. Patrick’s Day, we celebrate luck, hope, and new possibilities. 🍀
But real change isn’t about luck — it’s about opportunity. Education gives girls the power to shape their own futures and create brighter paths for generations to come. 🌈✨

🥧 Happy Pi Day! 3.14 🎉
Did you know that over 1,500 years ago, Zu Chongzhi, a Chinese mathematician and astronomer, calculated Pi to seven decimal places? His approximation, 3.1415926 < π < 3.1415927, was the most precise of its time and remained unmatched for nearly a thousand years!

Pi (π) is infinite, just like the power of knowledge. But for many young girls in rural China, access to STEM education is still out of reach. Math and science open doors to new opportunities, careers, and innovation, yet so many are left behind.
This Pi Day, let’s celebrate the joy of learning, and work toward making education as limitless as Pi!

CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY ON MARCH 8, 2026

The UN Women’s theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.” It is a powerful reminder that urgent action is still needed to close the gaps in justice, protection, and access to essential opportunities such as education.

This year’s International Women’s Day campaign, “Give to Gain,” highlights a simple truth: when we invest in girls and women—through resources like Guanlan Scholarships—we create progress that benefits everyone, this and future generations.

When we give, we gain. Join us in opening doors for the Guanlan Sisters, so education can become a pathway to confidence, opportunity, and brighter futures. Give to the Guanlan Scholarship on the guanlanscholarshipfoundation.org website. ✨

The mimosa is the flower of International Women’s Day.

Its soft golden blossoms carry a deeper meaning: strength that endures, hope that returns each spring, and the quiet courage of girls who continue to rise.

元宵節 (Yuánxiāo Jié) celebrates the first full moon of the lunar new year — observed this year on March 3. As the closing of New Year festivities, it is a time of light, reunion, and renewal, when families gather to welcome spring and share wishes for safety, prosperity, and harmony.

Once symbols of devotion and authority, lanterns now shine with universal meaning, reminding us that renewal is always within reach.

Education, too, is a lantern. For the Guanlan Sisters, it brings light into uncertainty, reveals opportunity, and guides them toward hopeful futures.

Follow us and comment “lantern” for the step by step tutorial to make a lantern!
