A Library that Runs on Love and Grant Supplies:

Meet Denise George, Library Media Specialist at Charleston Elementary Steam Academy and longtime Bradley County educator.

After 19 years in our public schools—eight as an Instructional Coach at Valley View and eleven leading the CESA library—Denise has truly found her dream job.

Denise has been awarded 8 BCPEF grants over the years, helping students grow from building with LEGOs to coding video games and designing smart farms. Students exposed to this type of curriculum enter into middle and high school with a skillset and passion they never knew existed.

Her goal:

“To create a space where every student loves to be—whether they can read yet or not.”

With support from BCPEF, Denise has transformed her library into a true makerspace, complete with new STEM tables, hands-on STEAM activities, and professional development that inspires educators across the county and beyond.

We are proud to support educators like Denise who dream big and make learning come alive for every student, and prouder to say that every BCPEF dollar put into this Makers Space came from private donors in our community.

This morning, Dr. Rosenow, Assistant Professor of Education at Lee University, brought her Elementary and Special Education Methods students to the Bradley County Schools STEM Hub Lending Library and Technology Learning Center at the PIE Innovation Center.

“In the past, we’ve hosted BCS educators, but this was a new opportunity to welcome college students! It was an honor to work with these aspiring educators and share the many STEM Hub resources available to support STEM/STEAM in the classroom.”

Led by Pam Coleman and Jason Viviano, the students participated in a hands-on professional development experience exploring how STEM connects to teaching and learning through interactive tools, robotics, engineering kits, and more.

We had the most beautiful evening celebrating the way our community invests in its local public schools. To our donors — we loved dining with you, and especially loved celebrating the shared belief that a strong public education system builds a strong community. Your investments are what make that vision a reality!

🤝 Stronger Together

Cleveland City Schools and Bradley County Schools are being recognized nationally for their innovative telemedicine partnership.

Our collaborative program, featured in a new Eko case study, shows how two districts can work together to expand healthcare access for students and teachers. By combining resources, leveraging technology, and partnering with United Way of the Ocoee Region, we’ve reduced absenteeism, supported families, and kept students learning.

Your future community leaders are at school today.

The future success of Cleveland and Bradley County depends on a strong, educated public. That begins in our classrooms.

The students learning here today are tomorrow’s doctors, engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs, and public servants. When we invest in education, we’re investing in all of us.
