The Edna House for Women

The Edna House for Women The Edna House for Women offers long-term, structured sober living and education to women seeking recovery from addiction to alcohol and drugs.

Our program was founded on the belief that every woman, regardless of her circumstances, could get sober if given the opportunity, and that the existing recovery community offered the critical link to the long term, uninterrupted sobriety that so many of us failed to attain on our own.

The Edna House was honored to attend the Hope Meadows Gala on May 9th and celebrate the incredible work being done in our community.

“Hope Meadows is dedicated to transforming lives through equine assisted mental health services and life skills programs; body, mind and spirit.”

Both Edna House residents and staff have had the opportunity to participate in day-long retreats at Hope Meadows, experiencing firsthand the healing, connection, and renewal their programs provide. We are grateful for their partnership and the impact they continue to make in the lives of so many women.

We were truly blessed to welcome Sister Judith Ann to The Edna House for a special and meaningful evening. The event was deeply impactful, as Sister Judith Ann shared her personal experiences and spoke beautifully about the legacy of Sister Ignatia Gavin, offering powerful insight into her pioneering work in recovery and compassionate care for those suffering from alcoholism.
A special highlight of the visit was Sister Judith Ann joining our ladies for dinner, creating a warm and personal moment of connection that meant so much to everyone present.
We are grateful for Sister Judith Ann’s presence within our community and for an inspiring evening that reminded us of the lasting impact of Sr. Ignatia’s work and mission.

BigHearted Blooms brings so much more than flowers to The Edna House - they deliver love, kindness, and hope. 🌸

Each bouquet is a reminder to our ladies that they are seen, supported, and thought of as they continue on their recovery journeys. These small but meaningful moments of connection can have a powerful impact.

At BigHearted Blooms, their mission is simple and beautiful: delivering joy through recycled flowers. By sharing bouquets and creating personal moments of care, they help uplift the emotional health of individuals facing life’s challenges.

We are so grateful for the light they bring into our home. đź’›

The Edna House for Women was proud to be represented at the Case Western Reserve University Community Engagement Activities Fair by Edna House Community Liaison, Stephanie Parham, and Advancement Coordinator, Abigail Hasebein. Together, they connected with graduate students, shared opportunities for volunteer engagement, and amplified the mission of The Edna House to a new generation of emerging professionals. We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with such a passionate group of graduate students!

This week, we celebrate the people who show up - not because they have to, but because they choose to. It's National Volunteer Week, and we want every single one of our Edna House volunteers to know just how deeply you are felt here. You are not just helping our program run, you are the heart of it. The women who walk through our doors feel your presence, your kindness, and your belief in them every single day. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We could not do this without you. 💛💜

Happy 20 years to Gypsy Beans & Baking Co.
Gypsy Beans is so much more than a coffee shop - they are a true community partner. From generously providing coffee at our St. Pat's fundraiser, to employing our residents and offering meaningful second chances to women starting over, their impact reaches far beyond their doors.
Gypsy, thank you for being such a thoughtful neighbor and committed partner to The Edna House. We are grateful to celebrate this milestone with you and for all the ways you continue to support the women we serve.

Gypsy Beans has evolved while maintaining its cozy, accepting core. The menu has changed over two decades, with a few classics like chili, chicken salad and a BLT remaining from the beginning.
