Cleveland SlutWalk Fighting back against r**e culture and the victim blaming it enables. All genders and identities welcome.

In order to make people aware of society’s habit of blaming the victim for s*xual assault, we are holding this event to reclaim the term “slut.” We want to bring awareness that that r**e is about violence, not s*x. Historically, the term ‘slut’ has carried a predominantly negative connotation. Aimed at those who are s*xually promiscuous, be it for work or pleasure, it has primarily been women who

have suffered under the burden of this label. And whether dished out as a serious indictment of one’s character or merely as a flippant insult, the intent behind the word is always to wound, so we’re taking it back. “Slut” is being re-appropriated.
