A Place 4 Me

A Place 4 Me A Place 4 Me is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending youth homelessness in Cuyahoga County. ❤️🏠

Our work – from convening partners, to aligning agendas and combining resources – has attracted attention from national partners, including A Way Home America (AWHA). AWHA is a national initiative to build the movement to prevent and end homelessness among young people. It consists of homeless youth providers, advocates, researchers, government agencies, philanthropists and young people uniting be

hind a common goal to end youth homelessness. This summer, after a nationwide search, AWHA invited three communities (Cleveland, Austin and Los Angeles) to support national learning through launching 100-Day Challenges, an effort supported by the Administration on Children, Youth and Families; Casey Family Programs; Melville Charitable Trust and Raikes Foundation. The challenges will identify and execute innovative practices to end youth and young adult homelessness, community by community. The challenges do not provide additional dollars for services directly. What these challenges offer is innovative support and technical assistance to set ambitious goals to work differently with what we do have as we identify resources that will scale up what works across the United States. With guidance from the Rapid Results Institute, Cleveland, Austin and Los Angeles have each formed multi-agency teams, set ambitious 100-day goals and are now pursuing those goals through intensive collaboration and innovation. Our ambitious goal is to house 100 homeless young adults in 100 days, and to strengthen support systems so that no child in Cuyahoga County will age out of the foster care system into homelessness ever again.

We are incredibly grateful for Community West Foundation's partnership and support. Thank you for being a champion for youth and young adults in our community and for highlighting the data behind this important work. ❤️🏠

Youth homelessness is not always easy to see. But for young people without stable housing, the barriers are real: limited rental history, fewer affordable options, reduced flexible funding, and fewer safety nets to fall back on.

A Place 4 Me works to prevent and end youth homelessness in Cuyahoga County by connecting young people ages 16–24 to housing-focused support, resources, and advocacy.

Recent reports show the organization served 490 unduplicated youth and young adults over the last year, including 188 young parents caring for 271 children.

Community West Foundation is proud to support partners who understand that young people need more than a service. They need stability, trust, opportunity, and people who believe in their future.

“I raise up my voice not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard.” — Malala Yousafzai

These are the words Katura Pleasant chose to represent her recognition as part of the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation’s 40 Under 40 Emerging Legends Class of 2026 Salute.

Last night, A Place 4 Me was proud to celebrate Katura, our Youth Systems Manager, and the leadership, purpose, and heart she brings to this work every day. Through her commitment to youth voice and systems change, Katura continues to help create a future where young people are heard, valued, and supported.

The Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation was created with a vision to empower, educate, and elevate the lives of young individuals in our community. That vision perfectly encapsulates Katura’s leadership, advocacy, and commitment.

Congratulations, Katura, and to all of the 40 Under 40 Emerging Legends honorees in the Class of 2026!

For many LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults, experiences of homelessness and housing instability are tied to rejection, discrimination, and systems that have not always kept them safe.

Belonging means more than having a roof overhead. It means having people, places, and systems that honor who youth and young adults are, protect their dignity, and help them feel safe and supported.
