Ohio lawmakers are raising serious concerns about a proposed Ohio EPA permit for data centers.

The concern isn’t about technology.
It’s about water.

Data centers can use millions of gallons of water for cooling, and lawmakers fear the proposed permit could allow industrial discharges without enough safeguards to protect Lake Erie — a drinking water source for 11 million people.

Economic growth and environmental protection are not mutually exclusive.
But when it comes to Lake Erie, strong standards matter.
