I wanted to share a story of how God works through us. I found left over products that were nice hand lotion and lip gloss sets in organza bags from Christmas inventory. They originally came with tags that read "Thank you for celebrating with us." Obviously not needed for our use, but I held on to them. (Most people don't realize the scarcity-based traits we have are generational, just like addictions.)
When I found them, I thought to myself, wouldn't it be nice to pass these out to people in NYC on my birthday? I said to myself, my significant other will think I'm crazy. I left it as a thought, as I received a confirmation through a reel on Facebook, the young lady stated, "I don't know who needs to hear this, but God says, "Go, go to New York City, I don't know if you are from there, lived their, or just visiting, but that's where the next step is in what you need to do, it's going to help you get what's needed for me to elevate you." It's helped me state my idea outloud, despite if I thought even those close to me would think I'm crazy.
So there I was hand writing on the "Thank you for celebrating with us" tags the date 5-23-26 (my birthday) and on the flip side Today is our Founder's birthday to learn more about what we do visit www.stockingsfromvictor.org and follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Assembled and tied with this message. I took them with me to NYC.
I asked God if this other gift I wanted to give myself, if it wasn’t too vain, make a way to make it happen. He did, promo code and abundance to make it easier. I got my Happy Birthday wish on a billboard in Times Square!
For the sake of a memory the photos shot at night weren't professional and although they have photographers milling around, I didn't use them. It bothered me, I wanted the memory preserved. I went back on my birthday with that intention.
What I didn't know was that there was a Christian event kicking off in Times Square on my birthday! We walked around a stage to find a group of tents set up giving out paraphernalia and books about Christ. I approached a stand asked the gentleman who was sitting there if I could leave some of them for people to take and explained who I was and what they were for, and what we do. He said absolutely.
Meanwhile, for whatever reason my spouse said, "Why don't you give some to the ladies over there?" He pointed to a group of women and a few young girls. I did, and what happened next is the point of all this. They asked to pray with me and my family, holding hands in a circle. The Sisters I met asked me, "Where are you from?" "Cleveland, Ohio." I stated. "We're coming to Ohio. We're going to help you with your ministry." Community Church of Christ
Whether they do or not is not yet determined. What is determined loudly in this story is his voice, his love, and his redemption.
Despite your hesitancy, your insecurities, your lack of confidence, confusion, and shortcomings. He knows your heart, and if you listen to your discernment, the people he uses to help you hear him, and heed his voice... You will receive the blessings he has for you. No pictures, no proof needed, just love!
