2021 in review
Wow, what a year it has been!
So much to mention everything. We will begin by thanking all of our followers that provide for everything we use to share with those in need. We were blessed with a steady supply of necessities. We received a wonderful amount of “New” underwear, socks, hats, gloves, and a incredible amount of new Coats, and lots of, like new clothing and shoes. Our move has allowed us to store, and organize everything in one location, and we are still working on an easier drop off point, ( soon to come).
This fall we launched our newest style of reaching those hard to find. We simply load a limited amount of clothing supplies, and drive through the inner city, stopping where homeless congregate, or where we find them bedded down in doorways, or bus stops . We have stollen a (COVID model phrase) “CURB SIDE”, for these outreach days. It is by far the most rewarding to have that one on one contact, and in those situations, prayers are almost always appreciated.
Exciting news this year for our now family friend “Jamie”, his year did not start all that well, however, God had his plan in motion before we seen it. In April Jamie received housing at a privately owned boarding house. He began assisting the owner with small jobs around the facility to pay his rent. Late summer he completed some training for job placement, and began working full time at Orlando Bakery in Cleveland. It has been real nice to go through that together with him, looking forward to see our friendship continue.
This year with our move we were forced to take some time off to get everything on track again. However looking back we were still out averaging twice a month. Any one of the most rewarding things for us is Jamie has served with us regularly ( when he’s not at WORK). Our friend “Tony” is pretty busy throughout the summer, but when the weather is cold, he joins to serve beside us frequently. And then there’s “Ken”, aka ( The Mayor) Ken continues to assist with countless chores at the facility where he lives, and enjoying more time with his mom, and his daughters. Our hats go off to Ken for helping us plan, and coming along side us, with our new venture “CurbSide”. Being from the streets himself he helps us find, reach out and his knowledge of the necessities, has made it comfortable for us, and the one’s we meet.
Most of all, we want to thank our Lord and Savior “Jesus Christ “ he came to a broken world to save a wretch like me, and has now abled us to serve in “His” name.
Happy New Year!
