Construction for the combined Cleveland Public Library Walz Campus and Karam Senior Living Apartments is well underway. As we move into the next phase of this long-anticipated project, crews will be installing water and sewer lines. This work requires temporary traffic adjustments, including restricting West 80th Street to local traffic only and reducing Detroit Avenue to one lane.

The reduction of Detroit Avenue to one lane will run from Monday, April 27 through Monday, May 11. The lane closure will be in effect weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be strictly enforced.

The RTA bus stop located on Detroit Avenue at the corner of Detroit and West 80th will be temporarily relocated to the pole at the west end of the drive apron for the business immediately west of the project.

We anticipate temporary closures on West 80th Street beginning May 11, and we will share additional details about those impacts soon.

Thank you for your patience as this important investment in a new neighborhood library and affordable senior housing takes shape. We appreciate the community’s support as we work through these short-term disruptions to bring these long-term benefits to the neighborhood.
