On Monday, April 13, at 5pm, meet at Elizabeth Baptist Church (6114 Francis Ave, Cleveland Ohio, 44127).

We are in the final push - Idea Submission closes on April 15! Join Najah, Cassie, and the PB CLE Pilot Steering Committee to knock doors and collect ideas from the Hyacinth neighborhood of Slavic Village. We need you!

We're talking to neighbors to dream big about how they would spend $100,000 to improve their neighborhood. All ideas will be reviewed and made into proposals by Slavic Village residents, then the top proposals will be brought to a community-wide vote.

Never canvassed before? No problem! We'll have a training before we get started to go over everything you can expect and all you need to know to be successful! Food provided as we wrap up!! Join us at the link in bio!

If you want to take community ideas to the next step, join PB CLE as a Budget Delegate! Sign up at tinyurl.com/PBCLEBD or the link in bio.

Budget Delegates will develop ideas (even yours!) into ballot proposals. At 2 workshops on April 18 & April 25, you'll sit down with Proprosal Development Coaches to complete proposals that include: what the project is, who it helps, what it costs, how long it will take to implement, and who would implement it! If your proposal is among the top 10, you may even present it at a community expo during the voting phase in June!

We want to see all kinds of people sitting at the table. If you represent Slavic Village and want to build community leadership, join us!!✏️

📣Presenting the PB CLE Pilot Neighborhood Steering Committee! 📣
Please give a warm welcome to Victor Benson, Arthur Bevier, Anthony Brancatelli, Rionna Bryson, Tatianna Marie Burks, Debbie Daniels, Michael Deighan, Janet DeSouza, Dorcus Johnson, Kathy McDonald, Velshanae Shaw, Glenn Sobola, and TiAunna Tate.

What a special moment it was to celebrate our work with them at the annual Holiday Party at The Nash! Each member holds a unique devotion to the richness of Slavic Village, and together, we will write the rules for the PB pilot process. This committee is dedicated to power the neighborhood by the people.

In other big news, we have reached our fundraising goal of $100,000 with the support of Third Federal, headquartered right in the heart of Slavic Village! That means the full $100,000 will fund winning projects once the neighborhood votes!

These past few weeks have felt like the culmination of a journey toward a more democratic Cleveland. Thank you to all who have supported us in it. Happy Holidays and New Year from the PB CLE team!❄️🌟

🙌 People’s Budget Cleveland has arrived in Slavic Village! 🙌

At Slavic Village’s annual Trick-or-Treat on Fleet, youth and families walked through the People’s Budget process from idea imagination to voting on what they believe is best for their neighborhood. While city-led elections continue to average low voter turnouts, over 100 community members came through to envision how they would spend $100,000 at the launch party alone.

With the start of the pilot, our Neighborhood Steering Committee application is live! We are seeking 15 community members ages 16 and up who are committed to guiding the process, bringing resident power, and representing the diversity of Slavic Village.

It was a joy to get the PB CLE team together in Slavic Village to talk strategy for the PB pilot. The pilot heating up! We’re vetting candidates for the project manager role and sorting through more than 30 nominations of neighborhoods to host the pilot. More updates coming soon!
