Advocating for every child’s healthy future ❤️

RBCF Trustees Satricia Rice and Sandra Treppo were honored to participate in Children's Hospital Association's 21st Annual Family Advocacy Day this year in Washington, D.C. It is a special day that brings together patients and parents from 60 children’s hospitals nationwide to make children’s health a priority.

Together with University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital President Marissa Kiefer, inspiring patient Carlina Szabo and her family, and fellow advocates, they met with many representatives, including Senator Jon Husted, Congressmen Bob Latta and Mike Carey, and Congresswoman Rep. Shontel Brown.

All meetings were opportunities to advocate for protecting children’s healthcare, supporting the doctors and nurses who serve them, and upholding the American value that every child deserves a healthy future.

A special thank you to Carlina Szabo and her family for courageously sharing her story and raising awareness for children and families across the country.

Together, we are committed to making the very best health care available to every child in Northeast Ohio and beyond.

We were privileged to join Ohio Children’s Hospital Association Pediatric Resident Advocacy Day at the Statehouse alongside University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital to discuss a key policy priority: maternal mental health.

Together with pediatric residents and healthcare leaders, trustee Rebecca Ott-Wadhawan met with legislators and staff to discuss the connection between maternal mental health and child health, and the importance of expanding perinatal behavioral health screening, improving access to care, and strengthening referral pathways for mothers during pregnancy and the first year postpartum.

When moms receive the support they need, children and families thrive. ❤️💛💙

Founded in Cleveland almost 140 years ago, the Foundation has supported University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital with dedication, generosity, and passion. From our inception, the women of the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Foundation have made it their mission to care for the children in our community. Today, we celebrate our extraordinary retiring trustees – Mary Khouri, Catherine Levy, Richelle McCoy, Patty Owens, Anna Rathbun, and Dani Weiner.

During their time with us, they all served in many meaningful roles that have supported our mission, inspired others, and made an impact on the patients and families of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
